Bride’s Walk
We fight domestic abuse in this family
Once upon a time a woman walked across the country in a wedding dress to raise awareness on domestic violence. Then her daughter followed suit and started fighting for the cause with her. Bride’s Walk has now become an international movement where people walk in remembrance of Gladys Ricart who was gunned down by a jealous ex-boyfriend on her wedding day. Home base of this movement is held annually at Barry University where we walk as a message to say never again and we’ve had enough.

… About one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. Uncle Hasely took us to Henderson’s Kitchen a farm to table restaurant located in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Everything is locally sourced and the menu is seasonal, based on what’s available on the island during the time of year.
Fish for Hasley, lobster for Aunty and I accompanied with a spread of fresh veggies
Aside aside from the red Thai curry lobster chef Dwayne Henderson made for me the best part had to be the quaint open kitchen space the restaurant is housed in. We watched him in is element while he spoke passionately about the business he and his wife started. Downstairs his wife operates a cafe with healthy meals prepped to go. If you’re ever in my fatherland you HAVE HAVE HAVE to give this guy a call and reserve yourself a table in Henderson’s Kitchen.
Had to break my dairy free diet to indulge myself in Chef’s spinach quesadilla for out appetizer
House made tiramisu and dairy free coconut cheesecake for dessert
